Reptile and Amphibian Photography

I have kept snakes and turtles as pets since I was a boy. I have had large pythons, monitor lizards, turtles, newts, salamanders, and all kinds of smaller snakes. South Carolina at one time had an incredible diversity of these creatures but they are vanishing quickly. The toll taken by development of their habitat and the appalling slaughter of animals on our highways may make photographs of these wonderful creatures the only legacy for coming generations. That would be a tragedy.
